District Student Voice Committee (DSVC)

The District Student Voice Committee (DSVC) is a leadership team dedicated to elevating student voice across Chicago Public Schools. DSVC is a collective of CPS students from different high schools, along with members of their school’s Student Voice Committee (SVC). DSVC members learn how social issues impact their schools and, in turn, become passionate advocates for their fellow students. They work with students, teachers, administrators, and central office staff to help build inclusive partnerships between youth and adults, ensuring that students’ needs and perspectives shape the District’s priorities.
- DSVC members focus on community building, analyze CPS systems and structures, plan meetings and events, and provide student voice at various CPS forums and events.
- DSVC members expand their knowledge of student voice and strengthen their leadership skills to support their SVC communities.
- DSVC members collaborate with CPS leaders to advance youth voice and inform decision-making.
- DSVC members develop and facilitate district-wide initiatives for other SVC students with the goal of expanding student voice across the district.
